Davodka – Cérébral (2021)

Cérébral s’ouvre sur une étendue de sable doré, vaste comme un désert, où deux silhouettes vêtues de blanc avancent, minuscules, écrasées par l’immensité. Réalisé par HTAG ART, le clip de Davodka et Deadi installe d’emblée une double respiration : celle de l’espace ouvert, baigné d’une lumière chaude de fin de jour, et celle, plus intérieure, d’une mémoire qui affleure. Car ce film est avant tout une plongée dans le souvenir, une madeleine vidéo où l’enfance ressurgit par fragments.

Tout un pan du clip se déploie en effet dans une tonalité sépia, presque monochrome, comme tirée d’un vieux téléviseur. On y voit un enfant attablé devant un bol de céréales, une boîte de corn flakes tendue dans la lumière du matin, un verre de lait posé sur une table de cuisine. Puis les consoles d’antan, les manettes, les cartouches, les CD manipulés avec une dévotion d’archéologue : tout un imaginaire des années écoulées, un musée du quotidien où les objets deviennent reliques. Cette nostalgie n’est pas décorative ; elle est le cœur battant du morceau, l’évocation d’un esprit façonné par ces images, ce conditionnement doux d’une génération bercée par les écrans.

Au présent, les deux rappeurs habitent des décors contrastés. La forêt de pins, ses rochers, ses sous-bois ocre, offre un théâtre brut et naturel où l’un évolue capuche relevée, geste ample. L’autre, en sweat noir frappé d’un logo rétro, arpente le sable du désert, bras tendus vers le ciel, comme s’il défiait l’horizon. Les plans aériens saisissent ces corps perdus dans le paysage, points blancs ou noirs sur l’immensité minérale, soulignant cette tension entre l’individu et le monde qui l’entoure.

La dernière partie bascule dans une palette saisissante : un sous-bois aux feuillages rougis, presque irréels, où les deux artistes en tenue blanche cheminent ensemble parmi les rochers. Le contraste du blanc immaculé sur le rouge sourd des arbres compose une image de fusion, de complicité, presque de rite. Cérébral se referme ainsi sur cette idée d’un voyage mental — de l’enfance sépia au présent flamboyant — où le décor devient le miroir d’une pensée en mouvement, oscillant sans cesse entre le souvenir et l’instant.

Directed by HTAG ART, the video by Davodka and Deadi establishes from the outset a double breathing: that of open space, bathed in the warm light of day’s end, and that, more inward, of a memory rising to the surface. For this film is above all a dive into remembrance, a video madeleine where childhood resurfaces in fragments.

A whole section of the clip unfolds in a sepia tone, almost monochrome, as if drawn from an old television set. We see a child seated before a bowl of cereal, a box of corn flakes held out in the morning light, a glass of milk set on a kitchen table. Then the consoles of yesteryear, the controllers, the cartridges, the CDs handled with an archaeologist’s devotion: a whole imaginary of bygone years, a museum of the everyday where objects become relics. This nostalgia is not decorative; it is the beating heart of the track, the evocation of a mind shaped by these images, the gentle conditioning of a generation lulled by screens.

In the present, the two rappers inhabit contrasting settings. The pine forest, its rocks, its ochre undergrowth, offers a raw and natural stage where one moves with his hood up, gestures wide. The other, in a black sweatshirt stamped with a retro logo, paces the desert sand, arms stretched toward the sky, as if defying the horizon. Aerial shots capture these bodies lost in the landscape, white or black dots on the mineral vastness, underscoring the tension between the individual and the world surrounding him.

The final part shifts into a striking palette: an undergrowth of reddened, almost unreal foliage, where the two artists in white attire walk together among the rocks. The contrast of immaculate white against the muffled red of the trees composes an image of fusion, of complicity, almost of ritual. Cérébral thus closes on this idea of a mental journey — from sepia childhood to a flamboyant present — where the setting becomes the mirror of a thought in motion, forever oscillating between memory and the present moment.
