Mai Lan, de son nom complet Mai-Lan Aquarella Morgane Chapiron, est une chanteuse et auteure-compositrice franco-vietnamienne née en 1982 à Paris. Issue d’une famille d’artistes, elle évolue dans la scène pop et électronique indépendante française, entre héritages hip-hop, R’n’B et pop expérimentale. Révélée par ses collaborations avec le groupe La Caution puis avec M83, elle développe un univers musical singulier, mêlant sensualité, humour noir et imaginaire foisonnant.
Née en 1982 à Paris, Mai Lan est la fille du plasticien Christian Chapiron, dit Kiki Picasso, et la sœur du réalisateur Kim Chapiron ; elle grandit ainsi dans un environnement artistique et rejoint le collectif Kourtrajmé. Elle fait ses premiers pas musicaux en 2005 et 2006 en participant à des morceaux du groupe de rap La Caution, puis en interprétant plusieurs titres de la bande originale du film Sheitan de son frère, dont le morceau-titre « Gentiment je t’immole », qui connaît un certain succès. Elle publie en 2012 son premier album solo éponyme, Mai Lan, coécrit avec son ami d’enfance Max Labarthe et enrichi des featurings des rappeurs Nikkfurie et Orelsan. En 2016, elle rejoint le groupe M83 pour l’album Junk, où sa voix figure sur quatre titres, dont le single « Go! ».

Elle publie en 2017 l’EP Vampire, réunissant les singles « Technique », « Haze », « Vampire » et « Pas d’amour », puis le 19 janvier 2018 son deuxième album, Autopilote, produit avec Max Labarthe.
