DJ Pone, de son vrai nom Thomas Parent, né le 8 avril 1978 à Meaux, est un disc jockey, compositeur et producteur français, figure majeure du turntablism et de la scène hip-hop hexagonale. Formé dans les compétitions DMC dans les années 1990-2000, il s’est imposé au sein du groupe Birdy Nam Nam avant de développer une carrière solo mêlant hip-hop, électronica et pop. Collaborateur de Suprême NTM, Svinkels, Casseurs Flowters, Gringe ou Nekfeu, il poursuit aujourd’hui une trajectoire d’artiste et de curateur radiophonique, entre scratch, production et exploration sonore.
Né et élevé à Meaux, en Seine-et-Marne, Dj Pone découvre le mixage adolescent, s’enfermant des heures dans sa chambre après les cours. Il obtient un bac en arts appliqués puis un BTS design à Blois, période durant laquelle il remporte une Coupe de France DMC. Champion de France à quatre reprises depuis 1999, il devient champion d’Europe en solo et champion du monde par équipe au Disco Mix Club en 2000. Il participe à l’album « Double H DJ Crew » de Cut Killer en 1999, avant de rejoindre le collectif de turntablism Skratch Action Hiro, matrice du groupe Birdy Nam Nam, fondé au début des années 2000 avec Crazy B, Little Mike et DJ Need. DJ Pone collabore parallèlement avec Svinkels, TTC, Triptik, la Scred Connexion ou Suprême NTM, et contribue en 2005 à la bande sonore du film « Sheitan » de Kim Chapiron. En 2014, il amorce une carrière solo avec l’EP « Erratic Impulses » chez Ed Banger.
Le style de DJ Pone repose sur une pratique affirmée du scratch et du turntablism, héritée de ses années de compétition, qu’il associe à un travail de composition mêlant hip-hop, électronica, ambient et pop. Il se définit lui-même comme un « mec du collage », assemblant samples, field recordings et voix invitées plutôt que recourant à un studio instrumental classique ; une bonne partie de son travail de création se ferait, selon ses propres mots, en mobilité, notamment en train. Ses productions solo, de « Radiant » (2016, coproduit avec Superpoze) à « 1978 », conjuguent textures électroniques, sonorités gospel ou soul échantillonnées et scratchs signature, dans une continuité assumée avec ses années hip-hop tout en s’ouvrant à des registres plus pop et introspectifs.
Après l’EP « Erratic Impulses » (2014) sur le label Ed Banger, DJ Pone publie son premier album solo, « Radiant », le 21 octobre 2016, salué par la critique spécialisée. Il fonde également en 2014 le projet Sarh avec José Reis Fontao, chanteur de Stuck in the Sound. Son morceau « Paradis Noir », en featuring sur l’album « Enfant lune » de Gringe (2018), et sa participation au clip de « TIME B.O.M.B » de Nekfeu (2014) confirment son ancrage dans la scène rap française, qu’il accompagne aussi sur scène (tournées des Casseurs Flowters, concert des Svinkels au New Morning en 2017, derniers concerts du Suprême NTM à Bercy en 2019). Son album « 1978 », sorti à l’automne 2022 chez naïve (certaines sources situant sa diffusion en février 2023), réunit quatorze titres et de nombreux featurings (Oxmo Puccino, Jeanne Added, Awir Léon, Disiz, Melissa Laveaux), et le clip du single « Paradis » est présenté comme l’un des premiers clips européens entièrement réalisés par intelligence artificielle. DJ Pone anime par ailleurs une émission mensuelle sur Radio Grenouille et prépare un nouveau projet, « Bass Culture », annoncé pour 2026.

His solo productions, from « Radiant » (2016, co-produced with Superpoze) to « 1978, » combine electronic textures, sampled gospel or soul sounds and signature scratches, extending his hip-hop years while opening into more pop-oriented, introspective territory.
After the EP « Erratic Impulses » (2014) on Ed Banger, DJ Pone released his debut solo album, « Radiant, » on October 21, 2016, to critical acclaim. In 2014 he also founded the project Sarh with José Reis Fontao, singer of Stuck in the Sound. His track « Paradis Noir, » featured on Gringe’s album « Enfant lune » (2018), and his contribution to Nekfeu’s « TIME B.O.M.B » video (2014) reinforced his standing within the French rap scene, which he has also supported on stage (Casseurs Flowters tours, a Svinkels concert at the New Morning in 2017, Suprême NTM’s final Bercy shows in 2019).
